Wow how can I describe the weekend lol. When Marika came over she looked cuter than ever with her stylish hair, elegantly done make up, and the cutest boots to throw her outfit together. She of course scored points by giving the hostess(me) a compliment when entering the house (which was blasting “Monster Mash” music in the background).
I gave her a quick two cent tour of the home that is still currently under major construction and then gathered our things and out the door we went to Thornhill Manor on Olive Blvd. Now anyone that knows me also happens to know that I don’t always have the best of luck, never so true as Friday night. Can you believe the first night I get Marika to come out after all my attempts that the event hasn’t been going on for over 2 years!
Luckily she didn’t seem too upset and after the disappointing arrival at the manor we turned around and found a nice looking place to eat. Now, all last week I ate pretty clean, even till Friday afternoon but then… Well as Chad mentioned in the post below we ended up going out for sushi at Oishi. Marika tried green tea ice cream for the first time and seemed to enjoy it. I’ve had better but it wasn’t awful like some I’ve had…
Oh well…I hope I can get Marika to come out again sometime soon for some real fun with the girls! Hopefully she won’t hold the faked crazy event against me lol.
Saturday morning I awoke at 5 am and reached over for Chad. Why do I still do that even though I know he always wakes up at the butt crack of dawn and gets out of bed? I got up and found him in the blue room on the computer (big surprise right?) Well I decided I was craving a delicious bagel with my special homemade cream cheese mix and pan fried turkey bacon. Chad caved in on the diet and decided that a bagel sounded like just the right thing to start the day, and off we went to Schnucks.

After the scrumcious bagel we decided we had plenty of time before Matt and Caitlin’s BBQ to have fun. Chad suggested gun shopping and naturally my eyes lit with excitement and off we went. I found the first gun I’ve ever drooled over (well maybe not drooled, just a figure of speech). This gun was perfect in every way (except that I had no idea if it would be hard to shoot or even reliable) It was a Taurus PT100 with mother of pearl hand grips, a brushed nickel base, a gray top, and gold accents. It was most certainly love at first sight.

We headed to one more gun shop on the way then went straight to Matt and Caitlin’s. As Chad already mentioned, we helped set up and I worked hard to get to know Katie, Adam, and Stacey (I think that was her name) better. I didn’t get much of a chance to speak to Stacey’s husband but perhaps next time I will. Katie apparently lives not too far from us and would love to make it to our next girl’s night at my house (score! another new friend). Seems like it wasn’t all that long ago that I was a newbie to Missouri with no local contacts. Within 2 short years I’ve met some wonderful people and now I feel blessed (is that really the right word lol) to know all these fun and interesting people.
After some extensive socializing and briefly seeing Ray and Colleen again Chad and I left to get some stuff done and rest.
Sunday rolled around pretty quick and I begged Chad not to work but all my attempts failed miserably. At one point Chad did say we could get munchies and watch a movie. We did so and for that I’m grateful. It was a relaxing Sunday and I got a lot done around the house, finished my book “Vengance in Death”, and sent out some of the backlinks.
Altogether the weekend was memorable and fun and I can’t wait for next weekend when we go to Powell Symphony Hall for some awesome orchestra. Till next time!
